What are the treatment options available in West Sacramento?
By integrating treatment approaches, addiction specialists can assist you to identify and treat the primary causes of your substance addictions. Symptoms of substance misuse should be treated but gaining new life skills empowers you to face the issues that caused your addiction to drugs or alcohol.
Private Residential Programs
Remaining at a treatment center and obtaining all of your treatments there is known as a residential rehab program. The main benefit is that you will receive holistic support and treatment 24 hours a day.
Leaving your home environment and entering a rehab facility can protect you against the stressors that negatively impact your use of substances. You can finish your treatment program and avoid relapse more easily when you stay in a secure facility that is protective and supportive. If you have co-occurring disorders, dual diagnosis or an intense dependency, an inpatient program is best suited to meet your treatment needs. Enrolling in a residential rehab program is the most effective way to get sober, and sustaining it requires continued focus because addiction recovery is hard during the first year. On completion of your inpatient addiction treatment program, you must transition towards more independence as you consider your goals for your new substance-free life.
Do You Need Help?
We work together towards recovery.
Sober Living Programs
Sober living treatment programs are designed to help you to have more control over your life, through guidance and a support structure. These programs comprise of:
- A house manager who will visit you daily
- Advising you on the right way to behave in recovery
- Encouraging positive relationships with others in recovery who understand your experiences
Outpatient Programs
Outpatient rehabilitation programs are usually quite flexible by allowing you to have therapy at the treatment center and continue important job or family commitments.
Outpatient programs offer value through:
- Education on drug dependence
- Therapeutic and psychological interventions involving group and individual therapy – Outpatient programs may last between 3-4 months to over a year, depending on your needs.
Detox Only Programs
Most patients need a medical detox to initiate drug rehab, as it deals with physical dependence on substances by removing it from your system. During detox you will experience withdrawal symptoms as the system begins to function without the substance it was physically reliant on.
Once you tackle the difficult phase of physical withdrawal you will enter the second part of your rehab journey, working to heal from the underlying causes of your dependency in order to end the cycle of drug addiction or alcoholism. Many substances cause symptoms of withdrawal and cravings for a period of time after they have been removed from your system. Learning vital skills can help you to reduce your odds of relapse as you work on your new life.
Paying for Private Treatment
The private rehab costs may be claimed back through your insurance policy or paid directly. Many insurance providers will provide cover for some of the costs of rehab, including detox, a rehab program, and any on-going support services you may require. The amount of cover you can claim will depend on your healthcare provider and policy type.
It is recommended that you inquire about the amount you can claim prior to enrolling in a treatment program. Click on our Verify Your Insurance page to find out about the cover you qualify for. Clients will be responsible for the cost of rehab if they do not claim via their insurance provider. Some rehab centers may provide payment plans for individuals who may find the costs unaffordable upfront.
State Funded Programs
If you want to overcome your substance or alcohol addiction but you are unable to afford private rehab, you should enroll for a state-funded rehabilitation program. These programs work by using government funds from state budgets, Medicaid and federal government to support recovery by offering:
- Programs for a safe detox (medically-supervised if required.
- Rehab treatments and aftercare support services
If you would like to participate in a state-funded rehabilitation program you will need to give proof that you reside in a low income household or have little to no healthcare cover:

- Proof of income
- History of your medical records and details about your addiction issues

Maintaining Addiction Recovery in West Sacramento
Leaving the comfort of residential rehab and returning home can prove challenging for people in early recovery. When you were in rehab the environment was controlled and you had support from professionals. When you leave, you may encounter new challenges or triggers that test your coping skills in ways you may not have anticipated. If you experienced a severe dependency and have not developed a social structure to return to when you leave rehab, you may find long term recovery more of a challenge. Relapse can occur when you don’t have aftercare to support you in your new-found sobriety.

Aftercare & Alumni Programs
By participating in an aftercare program you get extended rehab support when you go home. By participating in aftercare support, you can reduce the risk of relapse which hurts up to 60% of clients who have recently finished a program. It is an essential service provided by most treatment centres. Once you complete your rehab program, you will consider the treatment services most beneficial to your long-term sobriety, and an aftercare package will be created to help you sustain it.
One good benefit of completing rehab is the ability to join an alumni community program, where you can liaise with peers and staff in a community based project. This fantastic network allows you access to our special events, including ongoing support and mentorship from other members in recovery. We encourage you to consider offering guidance to other individuals who are part of your network if you feel able to.
Support Groups (Fellowship Meetings)
Being active in support groups is important because social structures enable long-term addiction recovery. Addiction support groups such as AA (Alcoholics Anonymous) and NA (Narcotics Anonymous) offer recovery support using the 12 steps and regular meetings. At local meetings, you can share and listen to other member’s personal journeys. Many individuals in recovery attend local meetings to help them in the early and later stages of addiction recovery. Support groups provide them with vital tools to maintain sobriety, and allow them to take responsibility for their actions to themselves and others.
Support for Families & Children Affected by Addiction
Each family member is hurt, to a varying degree, by the individual struggling with addiction. Support is essential for all family members, not just the person struggling with the addiction.
Joining family support groups has two key benefits: you can help yourself and the individual overcoming addiction. Receive help and support for the Family with the below support groups:
- Parents of Addicted Loved Ones
- SMART Recovery Family & Friends
- NAMI Family Support Groups
- Al-Anon
