What is Addiction Rehab (Rehabilitation)?

Addiction ‘rehab’ is the process of medical treatment and counseling to tackle your dependence on drugs like recreational drugs, prescription medications and alcohol. What are the treatment options available in Arden Arcade?

Integrated rehab is typically the ideal manner in which to overcome the root issues of alcohol and drug use disorders. Through learning useful coping strategies you can tackle substance abuse while treating the main symptoms of addiction.

Private Residential Programs

If you live at the center where you are receiving therapy, you are in a residential treatment program. It is extremely beneficial to have access to 24-hour care and treatment provisions. By being away from your home and living at the treatment centre you will safeguard yourself against the triggers that lead to your drug or alcohol abuse.

You are less susceptible to relapse when you complete your rehab program in a controlled center where the environment is supportive. If you struggle with co-occurring illnesses, dual diagnosis or a strong substances including alcohol, a residential program is best suited to meet your rehabilitation needs. Enrolling in a residential rehab program is an effective way to a sober life, and sustaining it requires ongoing focus because maintaining recovery is difficult during the first year. Once your inpatient program is complete you will acquire skills to be more independent and your focus will be on the things you want to do with your new life.

Do You Need Help?

We can help you recover.

Sober Living Programs

Sober living programs are designed with the required support to help recovering individuals achieve what they want from life. They guide you through:

  1. Sending a house manager to check in on you daily
  2. Working on the sorts of behaviors that are required in recovery
  3. Building on supportive and constructive relations with peers in recovery

Outpatient Programs

By enrolling in an outpatient program you have a lot more flexibility, as you will visit the rehab center for treatment weekly and continue attending work or family commitments.

Outpatient programs assist you with:

  1. Drug abuse education
  2. Counseling and therapeutic interventions involving individual or group sessions – Your individual needs can determine the duration of your outpatient program, which could extend from a few months to a year.

Detox Only Programs

A detox program is the first step in rehab and is actioned to eliminate your physical dependency on a drug by removing it from your system. As your body returns to normal function without substances in your system, you could experience the symptoms of withdrawal.

This detox phase marks the start of your rehab process, and the next steps work to identify and heal the root reasons for your addiction, so that those same patterns do not continue. A lot of drugs result in temporary cravings and withdrawal symptoms after you have completed the detox phase. Rehab will help you learn life-changing skills that are designed so that you reduce the risk of relapse.

Paying for Private Treatment

If you decide on private options, you can pay for treatment by funding it yourself or request a claim through your healthcare policy A large percentage of health insurance providers cover some of the costs of rehab, which includes drug or alcohol detox, the rehab program, medications and aftercare.

The amount you can claim will depend on your provider and your agreement. We suggest that you find out how much cover you can claim against before you register for a treatment program. To find out what you could qualify for, please click on our Verify Your Insurance page here.

If you choose not to claim against your policy, the cost of your treatment needs to be covered directly. Many treatment centers will consider payment plans to clients who may find paying upfront for treatment a challenge.

State Funded Programs

If you are trying to overcome a problem with drug or alcohol use disorder and do not have the financial means to pay for private rehab, you could be suitable for a state-funded drug and alcohol rehabilitation program. Through the use of funds from state and federal resources as well as Medicaid, these programs may provide treatments including:

  1. Services for a safe detox (medically-managed if required.

When you leave treatment, you may need some time to adjust to your new life. You had the benefits of professional support in a controlled environment at the rehab center. After leaving the rehab center you may encounter unanticipated challenges that you are not prepared for. Long term recovery is more challenging if you have a severe dependency or if you return to your new life without social support structures in place. If you don’t have aftercare support or guidance in the initial stages of recovery, relapse can occur.

As you get close to finishing your treatment program, you can be thinking about which services will benefit your long term recovery. We will establish an aftercare package that protects you.

Alumni programs are an extra bonus to completing rehab and provides you community based support with ex-clients and staff. You will enjoy access to mentorship and guidance from other people in recovery, as well as attend other Alumni events. You may also want to return the favor by supporting other members.

Support Groups (Fellowship Meetings)

Support groups enable active recovery because they understand the necessary role that social connections play in maintaining addiction recovery. Some of the best and most important support groups are Alcoholics Anonymous and Narcotics Anonymous, which benefit from the 12-step model to support individuals in recovery via group meetings. Attending support group meetings allows you to feel empowered by other people and share your own experiences. Companionship, empowerment and accountability for our actions are key to long-term recovery, and meetings provide many with the necessary tools to stay sober.

Support for Families & Children Affected by Addiction

Addiction damages relationships for everyone in a family to varying degrees. The person with the addiction needs help, but other members of the family need support and guidance too.
