What is Addiction Rehab (Rehabilitation)?

The term substance ‘rehabilitation’ is applied to all of the medical and psychological treatments used to help people who have dependencies on illegal substances including meth, or prescribed medications such as opiates. Rehab programs are more successful when they are personalized to your lifestyle needs, and may include residential programs, outpatient programs, medically-assisted detoxes and relapse prevention programs.

What are the treatment options available in Chino?

Identifying and healing the root causes behind your drug or alcohol addiction can be achieved through the use of an integrated treatment program. Even though symptoms of addiction need to be tackled, life skills will also be taught in order to focus on the primary causes of your substance misuse.

Private Residential Programs near Chino

Residential treatment programs require you to live at the rehab facility and undergo your treatments on-site. One of the main benefits is access to 24/7 treatment and support. There is substantial value in removing yourself from the home environment and becoming fully engaged in the addiction treatment program, because you are no longer exposed to the triggering environments that may cause you to use drugs.

You are far less likely to relapse if you complete your treatment program in a controlled facility where the environment is supportive. A residential program provides the best solution when you have a dual diagnosis, a severe substance dependency or co-occurring disorders. Enrolling in a residential treatment program is the most effective way to get sober, and maintaining it requires continued focus because addiction recovery is a challenge during the early stages. When your inpatient program is complete you will have the skills to be independent and your focus will be on the things you want to do with your new life.

Sober Living Programs

You will receive support and guidance from a sober living program to help you navigate your future better. Sober living programs typically include:

  1. Sending a house manager to check in on you regularly
  2. Working on the sorts of behaviors that are expected in recovery
  3. Developing supportive and positive connections with other peers in recovery

Outpatient Programs

Outpatient programs are easier to adjust to as you can continue your work/family commitments and still undergo treatments, by attending the rehab center at your own pace.

Outpatient programs help with:

  1. Education on drug abuse
  2. Therapy and psychological interventions like group and individualized therapy – Outpatient programs should last between 3-4 months to over a year, depending on your needs.

Detox Only Programs

The early steps of any rehab program is a detox, which eliminates all traces of substances from your system and addresses your dependency on it. You will develop withdrawal symptoms as a normal reaction to the absence of the substance in your body.

Once you overcome the difficult phase of physical withdrawal you will begin the second phase of your recovery journey, working to heal from the underlying causes of psychological dependency to put a stop to the cycle. Many drugs cause symptoms of withdrawal and cravings for a few weeks after they have been cleared from your system. In rehab you will work on the coping skills for long-term recovery, so that you can limit the possibilities of relapse in the future.

Paying for Private Treatment

Private rehab costs will need to be settled yourself or claimed through your health insurance. The good news is that most health insurance providers usually cover at least some of your rehab treatment, which includes detox, rehab therapy, medicines and relapse support. The amount of cover you can get will be set by your provider and the details of your policy.

It is always advised that you inquire about the amount you can claim prior to enrolling in a treatment program. Our Verify Your Insurance page can help you determine eligibility for cover. Clients are liable for the cost of treatment if they do not claim from their insurance provider. Some treatment providers may offer payment plans for individuals who may find the costs unaffordable upfront.

State Funded Programs in Chino

If you are battling substance dependence but have limited resources to pay privately for it, you may search for a state-funded addiction treatment program. Via federal and state budget funding, these programs can help your recovery by including:

  1. An alcohol detox or drug detox that is medically-managed
  2. Rehab therapy which includes aftercare and support

State-funded treatment programs are designed to support those in low income households or those with little to no health insurance. For you to enroll you will need:

  1. Proof of where you live
  2. Proof of earnings
  3. History of your medical records and details regarding your addiction issues
  4. Proof that you can legally live in the US

Maintaining Addiction Recovery in Chino

Leaving the comfort of residential rehab and returning home can be hard for people starting out in recovery. When you were in rehab the environment was controlled and you had support from professionals. Once you leave rehab there may be new triggers that put your coping skills to the test. Long term recovery is more challenging if you have a severe dependency or if you return to your new life without social support structures in place. Without the relevant support and aftercare to guide you in your new life, relapse is a real possibility.

Aftercare & Alumni Programs

An aftercare program continues to provide recovery support when you return to your home environment. By participating in extended support, you can limit the risk of relapse which impacts as many as 60% of clients who have recently completed treatment. It is an essential service provided by most treatment centres.

As you get closer to finishing your treatment program, you may consider which services will support you in your long term recovery. We can create an aftercare package that empowers you. After completing your rehabilitation program you will become eligible for joining an alumni community program so you can remain close to staff and peers. With this network you will be able to attend special events and receive support and advice from other former clients who are in active recovery. This gives you an ideal opportunity to reciprocate and offer support other members.

Support Groups (Fellowship Meetings)

Attending in support groups is vital because fellowship will encourage long-lasting addiction recovery. Addiction support groups such as AA (Alcoholics Anonymous) and NA (Narcotics Anonymous) facilitate recovery support utilizing the 12 step principles and group sessions. During meetings, individual members open up and share their experiences and learn important insights from others. Companionship, empowerment and accountability for our actions are key to long-term recovery, and meetings provide many with the necessary tools to stay sober.

Support for Families & Children Affected by Addiction

Addiction hurts those living in the family unit to different degrees. Support and guidance is just as important for the family members as it is for the person with the dependency. By a family support group, you will manage stressful situations more effectively, and be able to support your loved one recovering from addiction. Some Family and Child Support Groups are:

  • Parents of Addicted Loved Ones
  • SMART Recovery Family & Friends
  • NAMI Family Support Groups
  • Al-Anon
  • Families Anonymous
  • Alateen
  • Nar-Anon
