What are the treatment options available in Poway

A consolidated treatment approach offers a successful way to identify and address the prime causes of substance and alcohol addictions. It is crucial to treat the symptoms of addiction, but coping strategies need to be learnt, in order for you to deal with the problems that lead to the drug or alcohol dependency.

Private Residential Programs

Remaining at a addiction center and obtaining all of your treatments there is known as a residential rehab program. It is unquestionably beneficial to have 24-hour support and treatment options.

When you reside at a rehab center you are safe from most of the stressors in your home environment that may worsen your substance use. When the environment around you is supportive, you reduce the chance of relapse and you are far more likely to complete your treatment. A residential addiction treatment program delivers the best results when you have a dual diagnosis, a severe substance dependency or co-occurring disorders. Getting sober is possible if you partake in a residential rehab program, however if you want to maintain sobriety you will have to rise above the challenges that come with the first year of recovery. Upon completion of your residential rehab program, you will transition towards greater independence as you set goals for your new sober life.

Sober Living Programs

Sober living programs are designed with the needed support to help those recovering from addiction achieve what they need from life. They help you through:

  1. A house manager to check in with you on a daily basis
  2. Work on guidelines for positive behaviors in recovery
  3. Friendship and support from others who are going through the same process as you.

Outpatient Programs

Outpatient rehabilitation programs are considered to be flexible by allowing you to have therapy at the treatment center while you continue any career or life commitments.

Outpatient programs provide:

  1. Education on drug or alcohol use
  2. Therapeutic and psychological interventions including group and individual therapy – An outpatient program may last between three months to over a year, this depends on your requirements.

Detox Only Programs

A detox program is the first step in rehab and is actioned to address your physical dependence on a drug by removing any trace of it from your system. As your body adapts without having the drug it was dependent on, you will start to have withdrawal symptoms.

This marks the start of your rehab process, following which you will start to deal with the root causes of your addiction to avoid a repeat of the same cycle. Many drugs result in withdrawal and cravings for some time after they have been removed from your body. Rehab teaches you life-changing skills that are designed so that you limit the risk of relapse.

Paying for Private Treatment

Private treatment can be paid directly or claimed through your healthcare policy. Many insurance companies will contribute to some of the costs of rehab, including medical detox, a treatment program, and any on-going support services you may need. The amount you are able to claim can be identified by your policy rules and your provider.

We advise that you check how much will be covered for prior to enrolling in rehab. Click on our Verify Your Insurance page to learn more about the cover you qualify for. If you decide not to claim against your insurance policy, you will need to pay for your treatment out of pocket. Some treatment facilities offer payment plans to clients so that cost is not a barrier to treatment.

State Funded Programs

If you are battling with substance or alcohol dependency and limited financial means to enter private treatment, you may be accepted for a state-funded rehabilitation program. Via federal and state budget funding, these programs can help your recovery by including:

  1. Safe & confidential medical detox
  2. Rehab therapy including extended care

These sorts of programs are there to assist individuals on tight budgets or those with little to no health insurance. In order to apply you need:

  1. Medical information regarding your addiction issues
  2. Proof of living arrangements
  3. Proof of your income
  4. Proof that you reside in the US legally

You can discover more about the application process here. If you need the contact details for your state agency, this document provides the necessary details.

Maintaining Addiction Recovery in Poway

Remaining active in your recovery can be overwhelming when returning to home life after leaving rehab. The rehab environment was controlled and safe, and you were given professional support. Once you leave rehab there may be new triggers that put your coping skills to the test. If you experienced a severe dependency and have not developed a social structure to return to when you leave rehab, you may find long term recovery more of a challenge. If you don’t have aftercare support or guidance in the initial stages of recovery, relapse can occur.

Aftercare & Alumni Programs

Aftercare programs are an extension of rehab once you leave the rehab center. Because relapse rates can peak as high as 60%, and because life can be stressful, relapse prevention & support is an essential lifeline to support your recovery in the long-term.

Once you are near completion of your rehab program you will need to think about the counseling and therapies that are most beneficial to long-term sobriety and an aftercare program will be developed to support you.

One of the benefits of finishing rehab is entering an alumni community program, which allows you to liaise with peers and staff as part of a recovery community. You can attend team events, take part in a number of initiatives, build connections, and receive advice from other members who are also in recovery. Additionally, you have the opportunity to offer reciprocal support if you want to.

Support groups (fellowship meetings)

Staying active in support groups is important because social structures encourage long-term addiction recovery. You will get long-term recovery support if you participate in groups like Narcotics Anonymous or Alcoholics Anonymous by attending weekly 12-step meetings. When you go to support groups, you will the opportunity to share your own experiences in recovery and listen to other members in similar walks of life. By building friendships and committing to the programme, individuals in recovery will feel encouraged to take responsibility for themselves and protect those around them.

Support for Families & Children Affected by Addiction

Each family member is negatively impacted, to a varying degree, by addictive behaviors. Support is critical for all family members, not only the person struggling with the addiction.

Family support groups provide you with important coping strategies for your own life and allow you to offer more support to the individual who has the dependency.

Your family members will benefit from support groups such as:

  • Parents of Addicted Loved Ones
  • SMART Recovery Family & Friends
  • NAMI Family Support Groups
  • Al-Anon
  • Families Anonymous
  • Alateen
  • Nar-Anon
