What are the treatment options available in Placentia?

By integrating treatments, the hidden causes of substance use disorders can be tackled and overcome. It is crucial to treat the symptoms of addiction, but coping strategies need to be learnt, in order for you to cope with the triggers that lead to the drug or alcohol dependency.

Private Residential Programs

Living at a rehab center and undergoing all of your treatments there is called being in a residential rehab program. The key benefit is the ability to receive integrated support and treatment all day. If you leave your home and move into a treatment center, you can remove yourself from exposure to triggers that would have influenced your decision to abuse drugs or alcohol.

By remaining in a controlled environment that is designed to be supportive, you have a higher chance of successfully completing your treatment program while limiting the odds of relapse and its potential dangers.

Those who have dual diagnosis, co-occurring disorders and extreme dependencies are encouraged to consider an inpatient addiction treatment program. We know that the early stages of recovery are usually challenging and after a residential rehab program, you must remain focused to maintain recovery. Upon completion of your residential rehab program, you will transition towards greater independence as you consider your goals for your new sober life.

Sober Living Programs

You will receive support and guidance from a sober living program to help you control your future plans better. Sober living programs typically have:

  1. A house manager checking in on you and your progress
  2. Establishing guidelines for acceptable behavior in recovery
  3. Getting support and companionship from other people who share similar difficulties

Outpatient Programs

Outpatient rehabilitation programs are considered to be flexible and allow you to have treatment at the treatment center and continue important career or life commitments.

Outpatient programs help with:

  1. Education around substance dependence
  2. Therapy and counseling including group therapy or one-on-one interventions – The length of any outpatient treatment is customized to your situation and lasts between three months to more than a year.

Detox Only Programs

The benefits of a medically-assisted detox are many, because you can rid alcohol or drugs from your system in a safe way and put an end to to physical dependence. Symptoms of withdrawal will begin during the detox phase and your body begins to stabilize without alcohol or substances it was dependent on.

This is only the beginning of your rehabilitation journey, the next phase is to tackle and overcome the root reasons for your addiction, so that those same issues do not repeat. You may develop some cravings and withdrawal symptoms for an extended period after your detox has concluded. Your risk of relapsing can be mitigated as you learn the necessary skills necessary to cope with your new life.

Paying for Private Treatment

If you want to to opt for private rehab, you will need to pay for treatment yourself or begin a claim through your health insurance provider. Many health insurance providers will cover some of the costs of rehab, which includes drug or alcohol detox, the rehab program, medical supplies and aftercare.

The amount covered for your rehab treatment is set by your provider and the terms of your policy. It is a good idea to inquire about the amount you can claim prior to enrolling in a rehab program. Visit our Verify Your Insurance page to learn more about the cover you qualify for.

If you do not make a claim against your insurance provider you must pay for your treatment programme. Some rehab centers can provide a payment plan to those who are struggling to pay the full cost of rehab.

State Funded Programs

State-funded rehab programs are useful for those who have alcohol addiction or substance addictions and who may not be in a situation to pay for private treatment. These programs exist thanks to Medicaid as well as federal and state budgets to facilitate recovery through:

  1. Programs for a safe detox (medically-managed if required.
  2. Addiction counseling, therapy and extended support services

These types of programs are designed to help people on tight budgets or those with little to no health insurance. For you to enroll you will need:

  1. Proof of where you live
  2. Proof of earnings
  3. Your medical history and details around your substance misuse
  4. Proof that you have legal rights to live in the US

Maintaining Addiction Recovery in Placentia

Leaving a rehab center and returning home can present challenges for people new to recovery. At rehab you were in a professionally supported, safe environment.

When you leave, you may encounter new challenges or triggers that test your coping skills in ways you may not have anticipated. In our experience, clients with intense dependencies and those who do not develop the necessary support structure find long term recovery more difficult when they leave rehab. Relapse can occur when you don’t have aftercare to support you in your new-found sobriety.

Aftercare & Alumni Programs

Aftercare programs extend your rehab program once you return to your daily life. Relapse may occur in up to 60% of cases, and because of the unpredictability of life outside of rehab, having aftercare is an important part of your journey in recovery.

When your treatment is nearing completion, we will discuss the therapies and counseling that is helpful for your long-term recovery and the appropriate aftercare plan will be created to assist you. After completing your rehab treatment program you will become eligible to join an alumni community program so you can stay in contact with staff and ex-clients. Through this network you will be able to attend fun events and receive support and advice from other former clients who are in recovery as well. If you want to, you can also reciprocate in the program by supporting other people if you like.

Support Groups (Fellowship Meetings)

Support groups continue to be an integral part of long-term recovery because social structures motivate lasting sobriety. Two of the best and most useful support groups are Alcoholics Anonymous and Narcotics Anonymous, which benefit from the 12-step model to help individuals in recovery via local meetings. When you take part in support group meetings, you will have the ability to share your challenges in recovery and feel empowered by other members in similar walks of life. Companionship, empowerment and accountability for our actions are key to long-term recovery, and support groups provide many with the necessary tools to stay sober.

Support for Families & Children Affected by Addiction

Each family member is negatively impacted, to different degrees, by the individual struggling with addiction. Support is vital for all family members, not just the person struggling with the dependency. By joining family support groups, families will manage stressful situations more effectively, and be able to provide better to your loved one recovering from addiction.

Family members can benefit from joining support groups such as:

  • Parents of Addicted Loved Ones
  • SMART Recovery Family & Friends
  • NAMI Family Support Groups
  • Al-Anon
  • Families Anonymous
  • Alateen
  • Nar-Anon
