What is Addiction Rehab (Rehabilitation)?

When we use the term addiction ‘rehabilitation’, we refer to the combination of medical and psychotherapeutic treatments used to resolve dependencies on prescription drugs, recreational and illegal substances. Addiction Rehab is most effective when it is tailored to your own needs involving a medically-managed detox, inpatient and outpatient care, as well as relapse prevention techniques.

What are the treatment options available in Hacienda Heights?

Through integrating treatments, the hidden causes of drug dependence can be addressed and treated. Although addiction symptoms need to be managed, life skills must also be encouraged in order to focus on the primary causes of your substance misuse.

Private Residential Programs near Hacienda Heights

Living at a treatment center and undergoing all of your treatments there is known as a residential rehab program. The key benefit is the ability to have holistic support and treatment all day. Moving out of your home environment and entering a treatment facility can cushion you against the stressors that impact your substance use.

By having an environment around you that is supportive, relapse is far less likely and you are more likely to finish your residential treatment programme.

Residential treatment programs are considered most effective when your dependency is chronic and severe, or if you struggle with co-occurring illnesses or have a dual diagnosis. Enrolling in a residential treatment program is the most effective way to get sober, and sustaining it requires ongoing focus because addiction recovery is difficult during the first year. After your inpatient addiction treatment, you need to consider what you want from your new life, as you work towards becoming more independent.

Sober Living Programs

You can build the skills needed to stay sober by participating in a sober living program, which will support you through the transitional period. This will be achieved by:

  1. Round-the-clock support from a house manager
  2. Developing guidelines to change your behavior in recovery
  3. Guiding you to build strong relationships with peers who are going through similar difficulties to you

Outpatient Programs

Outpatient treatment programs provide greater flexibility because you can continue work commitments and remain at home, but you attend the rehab facility for any treatments.

Outpatient programs support you with:

  1. Education about drug misuse
  2. Talking therapy and counseling through group interventions and one-to-one sessions with a skilled addiction counselor. – Outpatient programs typically run from three months to a year, and your personal needs will determine the length of treatment.

Detox Only Programs

A medical detox is beneficial because you can rid drugs and alcohol from your body with safety in mind and put an end to your physical dependence. As your body stabilizes without having the drug it was dependent on, you will start to experience withdrawal symptoms.

This is the beginning of your rehab journey, following which you will start to tackle the root causes of your addictive behavior to avoid repeating the same cycle. It is possible to still undergo withdrawal symptoms and cravings for a period of time after your detox program is complete. You can reduce the chances of relapse by learning coping skills for your new life in recovery.

Paying for Private Treatment

If you decide to continue with private rehab, you will need to pay with your own funds or begin a claim via your health insurance provider. Most insurance companies should contribute to some of the costs associated with addiction rehab, including a medically-assisted detox, rehab treatment and medication, as well as post-treatment support.

The amount you will be able to claim is based on your policy rules and your provider. We recommend you understand how much cover you can claim for prior to enrolling in a program. You can visit our Verify Your Insurance page for more details on the cover you can claim for.

By not making a claim via your health insurance cover, the cost of your treatment needs to be covered directly. Many rehab providers offer payment options to clients who cannot afford the full cost upfront.

State Funded Programs

If you are caught in the cycle of substance use disorder but do not have the resources to fund private treatment, you can opt for a state-funded addiction treatment program.

These programs make funding available from Medicaid and federal/state budgets to provide addiction recovery through:

  1. Medical detox
  2. Addiction Rehabilitation and aftercare services.

State-funded rehab programs offer support to people who reside in low income households or private healthcare insurance. In order to qualify you will need to provide evidence about:

  1. Proof of low income
  2. Proof of residence
  3. Your personal medical records regarding your drug or alcohol misuse
  4. Proof you have the legal right to live in the US

Visit https://www.grants.gov/ for further information about the application process.

Maintaining Addiction Recovery in Hacienda Heights

Leaving a rehab center and returning home can prove challenging for people new to recovery. You had the benefits of professional support in a controlled environment at the rehab center. After leaving the rehab center you may encounter unanticipated challenges that you are not prepared for.

In our experience, clients with intense dependencies and those who do not develop the necessary support structure find long term recovery more difficult when they leave rehab. If you don’t have aftercare support or guidance in the initial stages of recovery, relapse can occur.
